Issued 19th March 10am

After a great deal of consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to open Camping Skye as planned on the 23rd March. We know this will be disappointing for those of you who were hoping to visit, but our primary concern right now must be for the care of our remote, and often fragile, community. Our local area is home to a large number of over-70s, who are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. In addition, although we are blessed with some exceptionally dedicated healthcare professionals, the service provision is delicately balanced at the best of times, spread as it is across huge geographical areas. As COVID-19 spreads across the UK, we feel that this is not the right time to be inviting additional visitors to our community, and we would ask you to consider postponing your visit for now.

Skye, our mountains, our beautiful landscapes, and our famous welcome, will be here for a long time yet. We cannot wait to welcome you here again, and we hope that this can happen soon.

Anyone with a booking with us will receive an email containing further information. If you have any questions, please contact us directly.

In the meantime, stay safe and well, and do whatever you can to take care of one another.
